Miltec Corporation, 146 Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville, Maryland, — hosted a facility tour and career presentation on Thursday, May 15, 2015 for a group of women members and potential members of Women in Manufacturing (WiM), a national organization dedicated to the attraction, retention and advancement of women who have chosen or are pursuing a career in the manufacturing industry.
The event kicked off with a presentation from Jane Seagraves, Business Development Director at APPI Energy in Salisbury Maryland, and WiM's first affinity partner, providing electricity and natural gas consulting services. Highlighted in the presentation was WiM's mission of supporting, promoting and inspiring women to pursue careers in manufacturing, along with information on several events that facilitate networking with industry peers.
Miltec's event not only supported WiM's mission but allowed for the networking among peers who attended to see Miltec's manufacturing facility and operation and learn more about the UV curing process. The Women of Miltec described their job responsibilities and relayed real life stories of how Miltec provided them with a career path in Manufacturing.
Marilyn Blandford, Miltec's CEO said, "I am proud of our women and feel honored to be surrounded by such strong women from whom I continue to learn every day." Marilyn talked about her own career path, which began as an educator, and encouraged the group of women attendees to recognize their strengths, continue their education and understand that women's skills are critical to the manufacturing field.

Randy is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, Spartanburg where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He worked for Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows Point, MD for eleven years and most recently, Randy was a Production Supervisor for CROWN CORK & SEAL where he directed a team of 20 employees responsible for production, quality and safety.

Miltec UV, located at 146 Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville, Maryland, USA is celebrating 25 years of business in the UV Industry. Founded in December of 1989 by Joe and Marilyn Blandford as a distributor of UV curing products, they were joined shortly thereafter by sons, Bob and Charles Blandford. The Board of Directors is Marilyn Blandford, CEO, Robert (Bob) Blandford, President, Joe Blandford, Vice President of Global Sales, and Charles Blandford, Senior Vice President.
During those 25 years, Miltec grew from four employees as a distributor, to over 65 employees and is now a global UV equipment manufacturer. Miltec is unique in that it offers both microwave powered and arc lamp systems to its customers, who represent about 30 major industries. EXEL North America, Inc. manufacturers of Kremlin Rexson and SAMES brand products located in Plymouth, Michigan would like to announce that Kevin Higgins is rejoining the organization as Director of Sales for General Industrial Distribution.
Kevin has worked for SAMES and EXEL North America since the early 1990's. Kevin has over 19 years of experience in the Finishing Industry. Kevin has specialized in: Project Management, Market Development Management, and GI System Sales. Prior to moving the EXEL North America office from West Chicago, Illinois to Plymouth, Michigan, Kevin was in charge of the GI Systems Group. His organization and leadership skills played a vital role in the transition of the office from West Chicago to Plymouth. Recently, Kevin held the position of Systems Application Engineer for Seneca Industrial. Seneca Industrial is one of EXEL North America's largest and longest standing distributors of Kremlin Rexson and SAMES brand products.
Kevin's main focus in his new role as Director of Sales for GI Distribution will be to work directly with the company's network in building relationships and assisting them in growing and achieving their goals while providing direction and support. He will also be working with Integrators and customers in the Industry to educate them about Kremlin Rexson and SAMES brand products and solutions. Lastly, Kevin will offer support and direction to the company's team of Regional Managers.
Miltec Corporation of Stevensville, Maryland is pleased to announce that Jessica (Jill) Roberts is the new South Central Regional Sales Manager for Miltec UV. Jill resides in Grapevine, TX just outside of Dallas.
Jill is a graduate of Texas A & M University where she received her B.S. in Industrial Distribution. She has worked as a Sales Engineer and a Technical Sales Consultant within multiple technology and manufacturing market segments. Her wealth of knowledge and experience will contribute to the success of the Miltec UV Sales Division and the valued customers we serve.

Norman "Norm" Murray has announced his retirement as CEO of U*C Coatings. Murray will continue to devote his time to the "Truth About Trees" program.
"The Truth About Trees" is the Hardwood Forest Foundation's flagship educational program and teaches children the benefits of properly harvesting forests as a means of keeping them healthy and obtaining all of the necessary items used in everyday life.
The video version of "Truth About Trees" is a Bronze winner in the 35th Annual Telly Awards, which honor the very best in film and video.
