Are you interested in contributing to the development and maintenance of valuable industry safety standards? The ASCO1 is currently looking for members in the following categories:
Call for Subject Matter Experts
The Accredited Standards Committee O1 (ASCO1) drafts, updates and maintains ANSI standards for the safety of woodworking machinery. Anyone with the interest and knowledge to contribute to this process is welcome and encouraged to participate. You need not formally join the Committee. You can participate by letting the Committee know what woodworking machines best fit your knowledge and offering to share your knowledge as an advisor or subject matter expert (SME) to the Committee.
The ASCO1 will be holding an in-person meeting on June 14-15, 2018 in Charlotte, NC. If you are interested in participating, please contact Samantha Devine at firstname.lastname@example.org
ANSI O1.1 Woodworking Machinery Safety Requirements
A revised version of the ANSI standard O1.1, entitled O1.1-2013 Woodworking Machinery Safety Requirements, has been published by ANSI. 01.1-2013 supersedes the previous version, O1.1-2009, and should be followed moving forward. ANSI 01.1-1 Safety Requirements for Fixed Angle Jump Saws
A revision of the ANSI standard O1.1-1, entitled 01.1-1 (2015) Safety Requirements for Fixed Angle Jump Saws, has been published and is available for purchase through the ANSI e-standard store. The ASCO1 is in the process of drafting 01.1.-2 and once complete will make the document available for public review and comment.

The ANS standard O1.1-3, entitled O1.1-3 (2014) Safety Requirements for CNC Machining Centers for the Woodworking Industry, has been approved by ANSI.
