WMMA Elects New Officers and Directors
Mark Chappell of Alexander Dodds Company Will Serve as President
April 30, 2010 — Philadelphia, PA – Members of the Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America America® (WMMA®), a trade association of U.S. manufacturers of woodworking machinery, cutting tools, and supplies, elected Mark Chappell, vice president of Alexander Dodds Company in Grand Rapids, MI, to a two-year term as president of the association. John Schultz, president of Super Thin Saws, of Waterbury, VT, was elected vice president. Jamison Scott, corporate officer of Air Handling Systems by Manufacturers Service in Woodbridge, CT, was elected to serve a one-year term as treasurer.
Other directors elected to serve three-year terms on the board of directors were Richard Cowan, president of Rees-Memphis of Memphis, TN, Allen Turk, chairman and CEO of Precision Drive Systems of Bessemer City, NC, and Linda Wyant, Vice President, Safranek Enterprises, Inc., Her-Saf Products, of Atascadero, CA. Kenneth R. Anselm, CEO of Western Cutterheads Inc. & Mattison Rotary Lathes, LLC, of La Center, KY, was elected to serve a one-year term.
The elections took place at the WMMA Business Session held April 22, 2010 during the 18th Woodworking Industry Conference in Monterey, CA.
Outgoing directors recognized for their service to the board over the past three years were Brian Donahue, of Safety Speed Cut Manufacturing Company in Ham Lake, MN, Frank Kobilsek, of Black Bros. Co. in Mendota, IL, and Jamison Scott. WMMA Past President Kenny Moffatt, of Unique Machine Company in Phoenix, AZ, was also recognized for his long service on the board of directors.
The next Woodworking Industry Conference will be held at the Marco Island Marriott Resort and Spa in Florida on May 3 - 8, 2011.
