WMMA Calls for Nominations for the Ralph B. Baldwin Award of Excellence
Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to WMMA, the woodworking industry, companies and businesses and other civic and charitable organizationsFebruary 18, 2009 – Philadelphia, PA — The Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA), a trade association of U.S. manufacturers of woodworking machinery, cutting tools and supplies, announced that it is accepting nominations for the prestigious Ralph B. Baldwin Award of Excellence. The award was created to honor Ralph Baldwin for his contributions to both the WMMA and to the woodworking industry. Throughout his career at Oliver Machinery, and his time with WMMA, Ralph Baldwin exemplified the commitment and drive needed to help the association, member companies and the industry.
The individual nominated must still be living. He or she may be currently active in the industry, retired, or with a different company than when the contribution was made. Affiliation with the WMMA is not a requirement, although it is helpful. The four categories for consideration are:
- Contributions to WMMA — offices and committee posts held, special programs conducted, contributions to growth and wellbeing of the Association
- Contributions to the Industry — participation in research projects, International Fair activities, improving the image of the machine industry, outstanding liaison with customers
- Contributions to the individual's own company — product development, marketing efforts, management and leadership, innovations
- Other contributions — local government, civic or charitable activities
