Although our company had been a member of WMMA® for many years, I got involved in 1992, when I joined the company. Membership in the WMMA®, plus my involvement in the Marketing and Membership committees, and my three year service on the Board of Directors, have given me an opportunity to learn more about our industry and it's problems and opportunities.
The Woodworking Industry Conference (WIC) and my involvement in the committees has kept me abreast of what is going on in the industry and allows our company to plan accordingly. Over the years I have developed a number of friends in the industry that I can call on to discuss various issues and get their opinions. These subjects range from industry trends to business policy and practices. Just getting to talk to so many people at a WIC is invaluable at learning "what is going on."
Finally, we are all faced with increasingly competitive threats from foreign competition, government intervention, fast changing markets and employee demands. It helps to face these threats as a larger group that can provide answers and solutions to many of our problems. The WMMA® provides active help for all members. United, we can make a difference.

We are not machinery manufacturers but the opportunity to exchange expertise in our individual areas of this industry have solved application problems more than once. WMMA® keeps us in the loop regarding personnel and machine announcements, export opportunities, and legislative action. The member directory is a great opportunity for exposure worldwide. Many of the WMMA® programs do not apply to our segment of the industry, but even excluding these items we obtain enough information to make membership a bargain.

We save money because our annual $550 cost of membership is more than offset by the 20% savings we realize on our IWF space cost.
