Higher Education Partnerships Program
WMMA currently partners with North Carolina State University and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in two exciting programs to benefit students interested in a future career in the woodworking machinery industry.- North Carolina State University Program
The Committee currently sponsors scholarship students at North Carolina State University for their junior and senior years with majors in industrial engineering, material sciences, or mechanical engineering and a commitment of one or two wood science elective courses at a rate of $3,500 per year ($7,000 total value). Students selected are expected to be employed for 60 days during the summer between their junior and senior years with a WMMA Member Company. They are also asked to visit three members during the two years (two — machinery and one — cutting tools) plus attend an IWF Show within the scholarship dollar provided. The focus of this scholarship program is the placement of qualified college graduates with our member companies.

The Virginia Tech follows the same model as the North Carolina State University program and has identical student selection and requirements criteria.
Current and Prospective Employees Program
WMMA members have the exciting opportunity to create a scholarship program in partnership with WMMA. Members set up their own company scholarship program for existing employees, new employees, or recruited students to receive a two year $3,000/year ($6,000 value) scholarship at a local education institution such as a community or junior college, business or technical institute or college or university.Members use this exclusive benefit in order to plan for their own unique talent needs. The flexible scholarship program helps to recruit and retain talented, better-educated employees to compete in today marketplace.
