WMMA: Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America
About WMMA

Membership Services Committee

Mission: To strengthen WMMA® membership participation, retention and recruitment by developing, implementing and supporting new and existing membership benefits. The Committee makes suggestions, observations, and recommendations about membership benefits and activities to the Board of Directors. It promotes existing membership benefits directly to the membership, and promotes our members products to the woodworking marketplace through advertising.

An Overview of Programs and Services

Advertising

The Membership Services Committee promotes the Association and its members to the industry by implementing an advertising program on behalf of member companies. Advertisements are placed in leading trade journals and full time banner ads on leading industry web portals. This exposure creates well over 1.5 million impressions in the industry that reached potential customers of WMMA members, creating stability in the Association and its members by increasing brand awareness.

Product Guide

The Product Guide located on the WMMA Website is an excellent free benefit to members for sales exposure. WMMA advertising drives buyers to the Product Guide, which receives 5,000 to 10,000 hits per month. Members load their company and contact information, logos and product photos. The Guide features a searchable database to make it easy for buyers to locate exactly what they need.

IWF Show Promotion

The Committee provides members with the opportunity to showcase and demonstrate machinery, cutting tools, supplies and systems during the premier woodworking trade show. Members also receive a 20 percent discount on booth space. For many exhibitors, this savings equals the cost of membership!

In 2008, the Committee promoted the U.S. Technology & Innovation Center — A WMMA Community Project. The objectives of this project were to maintain the economic competitiveness of the American wood industry through a demonstration of new manufacturing methods that improve profitability. Woodworking machinery, cutting tool, and supply manufacturers were all represented in this project. The total solution approach used in the demonstration is a key factor to maintain U.S. wood machinery manufacturing industry competitiveness. Completed kitchen cabinets were donated to Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. Innovative disposal solutions made it a "green" project.

IWF 2008 also featured a WMMA member special event to showcase technologically advanced products at a trade press breakfast.

Woodworking Industry Conference (WIC) Incentive Program

WMMA offers new members and those who have not attended in several years complimentary registration for two delegates and a $500 check to defray travel expenses.

WIC Mentor Program

First-time attendees are warmly welcomed to ensure that their valuable time is devoted to receiving the maximum benefits of this premier knowledge and networking event.
